The Elliott County Historical Society is very excited to announce the Guest Speakers for 2019 Elliott County Historical Society Genealogy Conference!!!! Ms Kelli Bergheimer from the Columbus, OH area will be doing on a presentation on DNA to yet be announced. Ms Bergheimer is a writer, teacher, editor, and national genealogical speaker. Kelli holds a Bachelor in Biology, a Master in Education: Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master in Business Management. Kelli is a math and science editor for Smart Education—a K-12 textbook company located in Dubai writing textbooks for the MENA region—Middle East Northern Africa. Kelli runs two small businesses—Geo-Centric Learning and Mess on the Desk, a genealogical organization company with an accompanying blog, YouTube channel, and online store. Kelli is the Central Ohio DNA Interest Group facilitator. Kelli is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Genealogical Speaker's Guild. Mr. James M. Prichard is going to do a presentation on the Regulators of Elliott County, Kentucky. Mr. Prichard wrote the article about the Regulators in “The History of Elliott County, Kentucky 1869-1990 Volume II. Mr. James M. Prichard, a native of Dayton, Ohio received a B.A. and M.A. in History from Wright State University. He has written numerous articles to Civil War Times, North and South and True West magazines. In addition to co-authoring a history of the 10th, (Mays) Ky. Cavalry, C.S.A., he has contributed to the Kentucky Encyclopedia, The Encyclopedia of Louisville, Biographical Dictionary of the Union and other scholarly texts. He was the Research Room Supervisor for more than 25 years at the KY Department for Libraries and Archives in Frankfort. Vanessa Gaye Simmons Maggard will be joining us again on Friday with more Appalachian Instruments and Music. The Historical Society plans to have a presentation on Researching Your Elliott County Roots. The presentation is in the planning stages and we are really excited about the presentation. 

The Elliott County Historical Society Genealogy Conference is scheduled for Friday and Saturday June 21 & 22, 2019 at the Laurel Gorge Cultural Heritage Center, 32 Old KY-7, Sandy Hook, KY, 41171.
