This photo belonged to Jaley Mason Buckner d/o Stonewall & Sena Brickey Mason and w/o Simeon Buckner. I have identified two of the people in this photo. The man standing at the far left of the casket holding a bible is my great-grandfather Rev. William Asa Hay and the other person is the lady at the far right wearing a hat (she is the only person wearing a hat) is Lou Watson former slave of Rolly Watson my 3rd great grandfather. I know that my Grandpa Hay starting preaching ca. 1897 and that Lou Watson died 1904 so I believe that this picture has been taken sometime between 1897 and 1904 in Elliott County. The funeral was for a woman and I have open casket photo showing the woman. If anyone can identify anyone or has information about whose funeral was being conducted in this picture please contact Anita Skaggs at
